Mango 1975

Music to be published soon !!

Written in 1975 in Raleigh NC. You can tell I'm still thinking about my country of origin and its lovely women...

Mango

Well I knew she was a lady by the way she held her head

And the Spanish moon was a gold doubloon

And we spoke in the light it shed

I did not have to ask her for I was sure that she would know

And though the words she spoke made no sense at all

The sounds sure did flow, they sure did flow

Mango, tropical delight

Mango, warm dry season night

By the northern shores of a southern sea

To a western night

Our salty skins will let us in

And we'll begin our flight

She had a way with darkness though she did not seem to see

And her legs shown in the light of the moon

And we swayed to the pounding sea

The sand was warm beneath us from a late afternoon sun

And the native sounds from the towns

Came to us on the run, on the run

Mango, tropical delight

Mango, warm dry season night

By the northern shores of a southern sea

To a western night

Our salty skins will let us in

And we'll begin our flight
